Lab Contributions 

​

On the experimental side, responsibilities include supporting ongoing research through a wide range of cell and molecular biology techniques. This includes culturing cell lines, performing transfection and nucleofection, cell sorting, producing retroviral and lentiviral particles, reprogramming patient fibroblasts into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), differentiating iPSCs into appropriate disease models, and correcting mutations to create isogenic cell lines for further studies. These activities bridge clinical knowledge with molecular skills to create cell models for studying pathological mechanisms and improving understanding of disease causes, progression, and therapeutic responses.

 

On the operational side, responsibilities include maintaining daily lab operations to ensure efficiency and organization. This involves preparing reagents, supporting equipment upkeep, and contributing to an organized lab environment. Additional duties include maintaining proper documentation and assisting with inventory management to support smooth experimental workflows. This position integrates hands-on experimental work with operational support, building essential technical skills while connecting clinical perspectives with biomedical research.

Fun Facts

I stay super close to my nephews and niece back home. I love video calling them just to show off fun stuff I know they'll want—then I promise to bring it for them when I visit. It’s our little long-distance tradition that keeps us close and gets them all excited for my arrival!
