Lab Contributions 

​

​On the administrative side, responsibilities include managing daily lab operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with institutional protocols. This includes overseeing lab renovations and space planning, equipment maintenance, procurement, inventory, budgeting, and financial tracking. Additional duties involve onboarding and training new members, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards.

 

On the experimental side, responsibilities include supporting ongoing research through mouse colony management, including setting up mating cages, weaning, tagging, and genotyping using DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing. Additional contributions involve microbiology workflows such as bacterial transformation, inoculation, and culturing for mini- and midiprep plasmid extractions. The role also includes preparing a variety of essential laboratory reagents, including buffers, broths, and agar plates. This position integrates hands-on experimental work with operational oversight, ensuring the smooth, compliant, and high-quality execution of the lab’s research activities.
